Official Reveal Trailer

Quick Facts

  • What: EA Sports FC 27 — official reveal trailer and launch date confirmed
  • Release: 25 September 2026 worldwide
  • Early Access: From 18 September for Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Plus Edition owners
  • Platforms: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Switch 2

Mbappé and Bellingham Front the Cover

Kylian Mbappé returns as the face of EA FC 27, appearing on the Ultimate Edition cover alongside Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham. It’s Mbappé’s fourth cover in the franchise — and his first as an EA Sports FC cover star since the rebrand from FIFA, arriving on the back of his 2026 World Cup Golden Boot win. The Standard Edition cover has not yet been revealed.

Mbappé also fronts EA Sports FC Mobile, continuing his role as the franchise’s global figurehead across both console and mobile platforms.

What’s New: The Grounds, FUT Gallery and Gameplay

The headline new addition is The Grounds — described by EA as an all-new football experience that takes the sport from the stadium to the streets. It positions FC 27 as more than a pure simulation, adding a social playground element to the franchise for the first time. Details beyond the concept are still limited, but the trailer frames it as a significant mode aimed at broadening the game’s appeal beyond hardcore football fans.

EA has also revealed an all-new FUT Gallery as part of the Football Ultimate Team overhaul, alongside what the company calls “true-to-life gameplay improvements” across all modes. The specific changes to Career Mode and core match mechanics are expected to be detailed in deep-dive reveals over the coming weeks.

“A football experience for all” — EA’s framing for FC 27, with The Grounds positioning street football at the centre alongside the traditional stadium game.

Editions and Pricing

Three editions have been confirmed:

  • Standard Edition — launches 25 September, cover athlete TBC
  • Ultimate Edition — early access from 18 September; includes FUT content and FC Points
  • Ultimate Plus Edition — limited-time edition available until 31 August; includes up to 10,000 FC Points across five monthly drops, Premium Passes for Seasons 1–5, a Hall of FUT Player Pick, and seven days early access from 18 September

EA Play subscribers also receive early access. The Ultimate Plus Edition is positioned as the most content-heavy option but carries a significantly higher price point — a detail that’s already drawing scrutiny from the FIFA/FC community ahead of launch.

What’s Next

The reveal trailer is the start of EA’s summer reveal cycle. Expect dedicated deep dives into The Grounds, Career Mode, FUT changes, and player ratings over the next six to eight weeks, building to the early access window on 18 September. With the World Cup fresh in the memory and Mbappé at the height of his powers, EA FC 27 has the marketing ingredients in place — the question is whether The Grounds delivers on its promise when players get their hands on it.
