The post, published by the official Elden Ring account on 31 July 2026, was accompanied by the line: “Even the perilous hunt for the demigods holds moments of quiet wonder.” Innocuous on its face. To the game’s famously detail-obsessed fanbase, it reads like a treasure map.

Why Fans Are Convinced It’s a Godwyn Teaser
The lore angle matters here. Godwyn the Golden — first demigod to die, killed at the Night of the Black Knives — is widely considered the most unresolved character in Elden Ring. His death was the catalyst for the entire game’s events, yet he never appears as a boss, has no questline, and exists only as a corrupted corpse beneath Stormveil. Siofra River connects, via the Siofra Aqueduct and a transporter coffin, directly to Deeproot Depths — the underground area where Godwyn’s body rests. Several fans quickly mapped out the route. It is a content package, not a story expansion.
