The best Honkai: Star Rail characters right now are the S-tier DPS units Phainon and Acheron, supported by the meta-defining buffers Robin, Sunday and Sparkle. This tier list ranks the current roster for endgame content like Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow as of version 4.5. HSR’s meta shifts every patch, so treat this as the current snapshot.
With dozens of characters, knowing who’s worth pulling and building is half the game. Here’s the full tier list and the standout picks.
The Honkai: Star Rail tier list
The current roster ranked for endgame content. S-tier are the meta-defining picks; A-tier are strong and reliable; B-tier remain very usable.
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| S | Phainon, Acheron, Robin, Sunday, Sparkle, Fu Xuan, Aventurine, Jingliu |
| A | Seele, Jiaoqiu, Kafka, Ruan Mei, Huohuo, Silver Wolf, Firefly |
| B | Pela, Bronya, Gepard, Blade, Dr. Ratio |
How the meta works
Honkai: Star Rail teams are built around one carry DPS, one or two supports and a sustain unit (healer or shielder). The best DPS characters — Phainon, Acheron and Jingliu — each want a specific support package, which is why buffers like Robin, Sunday and Sparkle sit so high. Sustains like Aventurine and Fu Xuan keep the whole thing alive in the hardest content. Because every patch adds new characters and Light Cones and rebalances the endgame, the tier list moves — always check the current version before spending your Stellar Jade.
