The biggest gambling companies UK players deal with in 2026 are four listed groups and one lottery operator: Entain, Flutter, evoke, Rank and Allwyn. This guide uses their latest annual reports to show which brands each group owns, how much it earns in the UK and Ireland, how its business splits between online and retail, and how exposed it is to the tax rises that started in April 2026. All figures are quoted in each company’s own currency and reporting period.
The biggest gambling companies UK at a glance
The table below lists the headline UK figure each group reports. Entain, Flutter and evoke report calendar years to December 2025, while Rank’s financial year ended on 30 June 2026. Flutter reports in US dollars, so its figure cannot be added to the sterling numbers.
| Group | UK segment | Period | UK figure | Share of group |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entain | UK&I net gaming revenue | Year to Dec 2025 | £2,185.2m | 34% |
| Flutter | UKI revenue | Year to Dec 2025 | $3,547m | 22% |
| evoke | UK&I Online and UK Retail revenue | Year to Dec 2025 | £1,175.0m | 65.9% |
| Rank | UK venues and UK digital NGR | Year to Jun 2026 | £758.9m | 90.9% |
The evoke and Rank UK totals are our own sums of segments within each company’s report, from the same period and currency. Allwyn is not in the table because it runs The National Lottery and reports ticket sales rather than gaming revenue. Its figures appear in a separate section below.
Brands each group owns
Most high street and app brands in Britain belong to one of a handful of groups. The list below shows the main brand names named in each group’s own annual report or press release.
- Entain (Ladbrokes, Coral, BetMGM): Entain is the Ladbrokes Coral owner, and it holds a 50% share of BetMGM, its joint venture in the United States.
- Flutter (Paddy Power, Betfair, Sky Bet): its UKI segment covers Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Betfair and tombola, plus 506 Paddy Power betting shops in the UK and Ireland at 31 December 2025.
- evoke (William Hill, 888): evoke owns William Hill, 888 and Mr Green, with a portfolio of over 1,000 shops.
- Rank (Grosvenor, Mecca): Grosvenor runs 50 venues, or 45% of the 110 operating UK casinos, and Mecca operates 41 of the 240 UK bingo venues.
- Allwyn: the operator of The National Lottery since February 2024, under a licence that runs to 2034.
Betting shop estates still matter to Entain, Flutter and evoke. Bets on British racing also fund the horserace betting levy, which is paid by bookmakers rather than by customers.
UK revenue compared: Entain revenue, Flutter and evoke
Entain revenue in the UK and Ireland rose 6% to £2,185.2m in 2025, from £2,053.4m in 2024. Gaming brought in £1,367.6m and sports betting £795.9m, and the segment’s EBITDA rose to £531.9m from £437.3m. Group net gaming revenue was £5,325.4m, with the International segment adding £2,643m, or 41% of the total.
That international weight is typical of the big groups, which hold licences across many European markets. It is a different picture from European online casinos that hold no Gambling Commission licence and are not covered by UK rules.
Flutter UKI revenue fell 1% to $3,547m in 2025, from $3,599m in 2024. Sportsbook revenue dropped 13% to $1,465m, while iGaming grew 11% to $1,926m from $1,741m.
In other words, casino-style games now earn Flutter more in Britain and Ireland than sports betting does. For national betting trends behind those numbers, see our UK sports betting statistics.
| evoke segment | 2025 | 2024 | Change | Share of group |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UK&I Online | £674.0m | £693.2m | -2.8% | 37.8% |
| UK Retail | £501.0m | £506.1m | -1.0% | 28.1% |
| Group total | £1,781.9m | £1,754.5m | +1.6% | 100% |
The evoke William Hill results show both UK segments shrinking in 2025 while group revenue grew by 1.6%. Group adjusted EBITDA was £356.2m, of which UK&I Online contributed £151.3m and UK Retail £55.0m, down from £66.4m.
Rank’s net gaming revenue rose 5% to £835.0m in the year to June 2026, from £795.4m. Grosvenor venues earned £397.3m, Mecca venues £143.0m and digital £248.5m, of which £218.6m came from the UK. Underlying EBITDA rose to £138.3m from £119.9m.
Rank also runs Enracha venues in Spain, which earned £45.3m, and international digital revenue was £29.9m. Its underlying operating profit rose to £78.6m from £64.8m. Rank says it also holds 17 unused licences.
Online vs retail mix
The groups differ sharply in how much of their UK money comes from screens rather than shops and venues. The shares below are our calculations from each company’s own segment figures.
| Group | Online | Retail or venues | Online share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entain UK&I, 2025 | £1,136.5m (+15%) | £1,048.7m (-2%) | 52.0% |
| evoke UK, 2025 | £674.0m | £501.0m | 57.4% |
| Rank UK, year to June 2026 | £218.6m | £540.3m | 28.8% |
Entain’s online UK&I revenue grew 15% to £1,136.5m from £984.6m, while retail slipped 2% to £1,048.7m. Flutter says its UKI brands mostly operate online, although the segment includes the Paddy Power shop estate. Rank remains the most venue-heavy group, as Grosvenor and Mecca together earned £540.3m from UK venues.
The trend is similar across the sector: online revenue is growing while shop and venue revenue is flat or falling. That matters for the tax picture, because the steepest new duty applies to online gaming rather than to shops or bingo halls.
evoke closed 68 shops in the fourth quarter of 2025. Its UK Retail EBITDA fell to £55.0m, a sign of the cost pressure on high street betting.
Exposure to tax rises
The main change for 2026 is Remote Gaming Duty, which rose from 21% to 40% on 1 April 2026. A new rate for online sports betting, excluding horseracing, rises from 15% to 25% from 1 April 2027. Our guide to UK gambling tax explains each duty and how much it raises.
| Group | What the report says about the tax rises |
|---|---|
| Entain | £487.7m impairment on UK online; aims to offset over 50% of the UK tax impact |
| Flutter | No UKI goodwill impairment; fair value exceeded carrying value by $3,802m |
| evoke | £440.3m impairment: £270.8m UK Online and £169.5m UK Retail |
| Rank | Cites the commencement of higher RGD at 40% |
Entain warns that higher tax could “open the door to those unlicensed operators” that pay no UK duty. Unlicensed offshore casinos are outside Gambling Commission rules, so players have no access to UK complaint routes or safer gambling tools there.
Market share estimate
No official source publishes market shares for individual UK gambling companies. The Gambling Commission reports total gross gambling yield for Great Britain of £17,455.7m in the year to March 2026, which is the benchmark in our UK gambling industry statistics.
| Group | UK figure | Equivalent to share of GB GGY |
|---|---|---|
| Entain UK&I, 2025 | £2,185.2m | about 12.5% |
| evoke UK, 2025 | £1,175.0m | about 6.7% |
| Rank UK, year to June 2026 | £758.9m | about 4.3% |
These ratios are rough indicators only, not true market shares. Company net gaming revenue is measured after bonuses, Entain’s segment includes Ireland, and the periods differ from the Commission’s April to March year. Flutter is left out because its figure is in dollars, and converting it would add a further layer of estimation.
The Commission’s totals also miss spending with unlicensed sites such as crypto casinos. Its October 2026 open banking study said it did not have enough data coverage to estimate the size of the illegal market.
Allwyn and The National Lottery
Allwyn reported National Lottery sales of £8.1bn in 2025, its first full year as operator, up 3.5% on 2024. Digital sales reached £4.1bn, and more than £1.7bn went to good causes, about £33m a week. The National Lottery also raised £967m in Lottery Duty in 2025.
Allwyn says it has invested over £450m in the biggest change to the lottery’s systems since its launch in 1994. The National Lottery runs under a licence overseen by the Gambling Commission, unlike non-UK casino sites that operate without one.
