Online casino statistics UK data from the Gambling Commission shows remote casino gross gambling yield (GGY) of £5,699.4m in 2025-26, up 14.8% on the year. Slots took 84.0% of it, leaving £909.9m for roulette, blackjack, poker and other games. This guide looks at those non-slot games, comparing each with earlier years and using the provisional 2025-26 figures published in September 2026.
Online casino statistics UK: GGY by game in 2025-26
The Commission splits remote casino returns by game type. Turnover is the total staked, including winnings that are staked again, and GGY is what operators keep after paying out prizes.
| Game | Turnover | GGY | Share of GGY |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slots | £93,951.8m | £4,789.6m | 84.0% |
| Roulette | £16,362.1m | £394.6m | 6.9% |
| Other games | £7,144.8m | £255.0m | 4.5% |
| Blackjack | £9,031.0m | £223.7m | 3.9% |
| Peer-to-peer poker | not reported | £36.6m | 0.6% |
| Total | £126,489.8m | £5,699.4m | 100% |
Shares are our calculation. Slots are covered in detail in our online slots statistics UK report, so this article concentrates on everything else.
Turnover is a measure of stake volume, not of money deposited. A player who stakes £10 a hundred times records £1,000 of turnover even if they never deposit more than £10.
The returns also say nothing about how quickly players are paid. Claims made by instant withdrawal casinos cannot be checked against this data.
Online roulette statistics
Roulette is the largest non-slot game online. Players staked £16,362.1m on online roulette in 2025-26, 6.1% more than in 2024-25, and operators kept £394.6m in GGY, up 6.2%.
The online roulette statistics also show a low margin: GGY was 2.4% of turnover, against 5.1% for slots (our calculation). Roulette GGY is still 25.1% below its 2020-21 high of £526.6m.
Key point: roulette took 12.9% of remote casino turnover in 2025-26 but only 6.9% of GGY, because a much smaller share of each pound staked is kept by the operator than on slots.
Low margins mean large amounts are staked for each pound of GGY. That makes turnover a poor guide to player losses, a point also made in our analysis of online gambling accounts UK data.
Online blackjack UK: fastest growth outside slots
Online blackjack UK turnover rose 16.6% to £9,031.0m in 2025-26 and GGY rose 19.2% to £223.7m. That is the fastest GGY growth of any game type in the table, ahead of slots at 15.5%.
Blackjack GGY is now above the £214.4m recorded in 2018-19 and is the highest in the series. The margin was 2.5%, close to roulette.
Blackjack and roulette together made up 67.9% of non-slot GGY in 2025-26 (our calculation). The rest came from other games and poker.
Peer-to-peer poker UK: a shrinking niche
Peer-to-peer poker UK GGY was £36.6m in 2025-26, up 3.1% on the year. In poker, players compete against each other and the operator earns a rake or fee, so no turnover figure is reported.
The long-run trend is down. Peer-to-peer poker GGY peaked at £141.7m in 2020-21 and has fallen 74.2% since then (our calculation).
It was £95.7m in 2018-19 and only £44.2m in 2022-23, so the 2020-21 peak looks like a one-off rather than a lasting change.
Because poker GGY is a fee for hosting games between players, it depends on how many people play and how much they put in, not on the house winning hands. That makes it a different business from roulette or blackjack, even though all three sit in the remote casino returns.
Card games, table games and “other”
Earlier returns used broader labels. Until 2017-18 the Commission tables included separate card games and table games columns, and from 2018-19 those columns are zero while blackjack and roulette are reported on their own.
That change matters when comparing years. Table games GGY in 2016-17 was £411.0m and card games GGY £203.9m, but those totals are not directly comparable with the later blackjack and roulette figures.
The “other” category, games without their own column, earned £255.0m of GGY in 2025-26, up 15.5%. Its turnover was £7,144.8m, giving a margin of 3.6%.
None of these figures include unlicensed sites. Crypto casinos that serve British players without a Commission licence do not file returns, so their games are not in the data.
Table games GGY and margins compared
Dividing GGY by turnover gives a rough margin for each game. It reflects the house edge, the mix of stakes and how players behaved during the year (our calculation).
| Game | Margin 2025-26 | GGY change on 2024-25 |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 5.1% | +15.5% |
| Other games | 3.6% | +15.5% |
| Blackjack | 2.5% | +19.2% |
| Roulette | 2.4% | +6.2% |
| Peer-to-peer poker | not reported | +3.1% |
| All remote casino | 4.5% | +14.8% |
Combined table games GGY from roulette and blackjack was £618.3m in 2025-26 (our calculation). That is less than one-seventh of slots GGY, even though the two games took £25,393.1m of stakes between them.
The low margins on table games are the reason turnover figures look so large. Players recycle the same money through many spins and hands, so the stake total grows much faster than losses.
Non-slot games since 2018-19
Non-slot GGY was £897.3m in 2018-19 and £909.9m in 2025-26, an increase of just 1.4% over seven years (our calculation). Over the same period slots GGY more than doubled.
In the latest year non-slot GGY grew 11.6% from £815.6m, slower than slots. Session data in our online slots session length article helps explain why slots dominate.
Remote casino now earns more than twice the £2,447.6m of remote betting GGY; for the wider market see our UK gambling industry statistics overview.
What licensed remote casino rules mean for players
All of this data comes from operators licensed in Great Britain. Since 14 April 2020 they have not been allowed to accept credit cards for gambling, so casinos that take credit card payments to British customers sit outside the licensed market.
Licensed operators must also check the age and identity of customers. Casinos without ID checks are not meeting the rules that apply to the operators in these tables.
