Amazon and Warner Bros. have announced Batman: Caped Crusader Chronicles, a cooperative crime-solving party game exclusive to Amazon Prime that launches on 31 July — the same day Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 arrives on Prime Video. Up to four players take on the role of detectives in a special GCPD task force operating alongside Detective Montoya and Batman’s inner circle in the dark, noir-soaked streets of Gotham City.
The game comprises 11 episodic missions, each built around distinct sleuthing minigames that test players’ detective skills. Over the course of those missions, you’ll interrogate suspects, investigate crime scenes, and deduce your way through cases that pit the task force against Batman’s Rogues Gallery — including Babyface, Scarecrow, Dollmaker, and the Joker. The episodic structure mirrors the animated series, making it easy to pick up and play alongside whichever episode you’re watching.

Luna Joins Prime Video
The game’s launch coincides with a significant move for Amazon’s cloud gaming service. Amazon Luna officially became part of Prime Video on 23 July, the day before the Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Prime members can now access Luna’s library of games directly through Prime Video — no separate subscription needed.
Batman: Caped Crusader Chronicles is the flagship title for this expanded offering, designed to be played on phones, tablets, or connected TV with no dedicated hardware required. The phone-as-controller approach means a group of four can sit on the sofa and play without needing extra gamepads.
Season 2 and the New Joker
The game ties directly into Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, which also launches on 31 July. Prime Video confirmed at Comic-Con that Matthew Needham — best known as Larys Strong in House of the Dragon — will voice the Joker in the new season. Needham takes over the role from the first season, bringing a distinct stage-trained quality to Gotham’s most unpredictable villain.
The animated series is set in a 1940s Gotham, drawing heavily from noir and Art Deco aesthetics, and the game reflects that visual style across its missions and character designs.
