With PAX Australia just over three weeks away, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is shaping up to have one of the strongest showroom floors in the event’s history. Organisers have confirmed the first wave of playable titles for the 9–12 October show, and the headline acts are games fans have been waiting months to get their hands on.
The SEGA Lineup — Four Games to Try
SEGA is arriving at PAX Aus 2026 with arguably the strongest single-publisher presence at the event. Four playable titles will occupy a dedicated booth on the show floor, covering a remarkably wide range of genres:
- Total War: Warhammer 40,000 — Three distinct playable scenarios, with players taking command of Space Marines across different tactical situations. This is the first chance for Australian players to try the game ahead of its release.
- Alien: Isolation 2 — The long-awaited sequel to the 2014 survival horror classic. No detailed scenario information has been released, but its inclusion confirms the game is far enough into development to support hands-on demos.
- Stranger Than Heaven — Yakuza’s noir prequel, offering a visually and tonally distinct experience from the main series. PAX Aus will give Australian players their first look at the game in an interactive format after major showcases abroad.
- Persona 4 Revival — A remake of the beloved RPG classic. For fans who missed the original or want to experience it with modern production values, this will be a significant draw.
Note: SEGA’s PAX Aus 2026 showing may be one of the studio’s largest at an Australian convention. All four titles are currently unreleased.
Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer — Two Weeks Early
Activision is bringing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to the show floor ahead of its 23 October global launch. Attendees will be able to jump into the game’s multiplayer mode roughly two weeks before release — which, given the beta coverage and community interest in the game’s return to lower SBMM, will be a significant draw for competitive FPS players in the audience.
For context, MW4 is the game Activision has described as the “epic conclusion” to the rebooted Modern Warfare saga — making this a rare opportunity to play what may be the final chapter of the current storyline before it releases to the world.
Final Fantasy XIV, PowerA, and More on the Floor
Final Fantasy XIV Online is returning to PAX Aus with a Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay station, bracelet-making activities, and a themed photo area. Beyond the hands-on element, Square Enix is hosting a special developer panel — “A Realm Reburned” — featuring localisation director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox and global community producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi, who will share behind-the-scenes stories from their years on one of the world’s biggest MMOs. The panel reportedly includes a progressively spicy hot sauce challenge.
PowerA is bringing new 2027 controllers and accessories to the show, including the PowerA Meridian Flight Controller for Xbox and PC — a pre-release look at a product not expected until next year. Aftershock is offering a “Journey Book” experience where attendees collect stamps across six themed stalls to enter a draw for custom PCs.
First-timer eBay Live also makes its PAX Aus debut, bringing live shopping to the show floor with drops and featured guests.
When and Where
PAX Australia 2026 runs from Thursday 9 October to Sunday 12 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets are available now through the PAX website. The organisers have confirmed that additional exhibitor announcements are still to come, meaning the lineup above represents a first wave rather than the complete picture.
For gaming fans in Australia, PAX Aus remains one of the only annual opportunities to go hands-on with major unreleased titles before they hit shelves — and the 2026 edition is delivering exactly the kind of lineup that makes the trip worthwhile.
