How potential works

In FC 27 Career Mode, every young player has a current overall (OVR) and a potential (POT) — the ceiling they can reach with regular game time and good development. The best wonderkids combine a decent starting OVR with a high POT, so they improve fast and pay off a transfer fee quickly. Some players have a fixed potential, others a range that scouting narrows down. Yamal is the rare wonderkid who is already world-class at 90 OVR yet still has room to hit 95, making him the ultimate — if pricey — signing.
