Skyborne is WoW Forever’s new neutral race — you pick Alliance or Horde at character creation. It has four racials: the active glide Walk on Air, the passive Wind Blessed (+1% haste) and Elemental Insight (+5% damage vs elementals), plus a faction racial — Read Ley Line (Alliance/High Order, big health & mana regen) or Skysight (Horde/Windshaper, a run-speed boost). Skyborne can play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid on both sides, with Mage exclusive to Alliance and Shaman to Horde. It’s unlocked by the $29.99 Skyborne Heroic Pack.
Here is the full Skyborne guide: every racial and what it does, the class and faction options, how to unlock the race, and which class suits it best. Based on WoW Forever beta client data and race guides (Icy Veins, Mobalytics, RankedBoost), as of 3 November 2026. The game launches 4 November; some racial numbers still differ between sources and are flagged below.

Skyborne classes & factions
Skyborne’s class list is deliberately narrower than the old races, and it splits by faction. On both sides you can roll Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid. Alliance (High Order) adds Mage; Horde (Windshaper) adds Shaman. Notably, Skyborne cannot play Priest, Paladin or Warlock in the announced lineup. That shapes the best picks: with a universally useful +1% haste and a glide, Skyborne is a clean fit for Hunter (haste helps ranged attack speed and the glide helps kiting) and Rogue (haste and mobility suit melee). Alliance players chasing a Skyborne caster take Mage, pairing Read Ley Line’s mana regen with Frost’s efficiency; Horde players get the only Skyborne Shaman, with Skysight adding mobility to an Enhancement melee kit. Druid works on both sides as the flexible hybrid.
How to unlock Skyborne
Skyborne is not part of the base game — it’s a paid unlock. The only way to play it is the Skyborne Heroic Pack at $29.99, or any higher-tier edition that includes it. Buying the pack also granted early name reservation from 27 October through 3 November (today is the last day), letting you create and customise up to three characters before launch — though you can’t level them until the 4 November go-live. If you miss the reservation window you can still make a Skyborne at launch; you just won’t have pre-locked your names. This makes Skyborne the one race in WoW Forever behind a specific purchase rather than available to every subscriber, so factor the $29.99 into your decision if the race (rather than the cosmetics) is the draw.
