Cyberpunk 2077 Arrives on Battle.net as Geralt Heads to Diablo 4 at BlizzCon 2026

14 September 2026 · 3 min read · News

The CD Projekt Red and Blizzard partnership that surprised everyone at Gamescom in August has expanded significantly at BlizzCon 2026. What started as a Witcher 3 remaster landing on Battle.net has grown into a multi-game, multi-year deal — and the centrepiece at this year’s show was Cyberpunk 2077 finally joining Blizzard’s launcher.

That’s not the only news. A Geralt of Rivia skin for Diablo 4 went from rumoured to confirmed during the “30 Years of Battle.net” panel, while Overwatch players got their first look at an upcoming crossover with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. There’s a lot to unpack from a partnership that nobody saw coming and appears to keep expanding.

Cyberpunk 2077 Comes to Battle.net in 2026

CD Projekt Red’s community manager Amelia Korzycka and level design lead Miles Tost confirmed during the BlizzCon panel that Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on Battle.net before the end of 2026. No specific date was given, though CDPR ruled out a shadow drop during the event itself.

The game will be available in two forms: the base game plus Phantom Liberty as a separate purchase, or Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition bundling both. It follows The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, which has already been announced for Battle.net on 29 September 2026, making this the second major CD Projekt title coming to the platform within months of each other.

Getting both: The Witcher 3 Remastered lands on Battle.net on 29 September. Cyberpunk 2077 follows later in 2026 — no exact date yet. Both base and Ultimate Edition options will be available.

What the Geralt Skin in Diablo 4 Actually Is

The Geralt Barbarian skin had been teased since the Gamescom partnership announcement, but BlizzCon gave the first proper look. It puts Geralt’s iconic Kaer Morhen armour onto Diablo 4’s Barbarian class, complete with bear pelts layered over the chest and a pair of swords that match Geralt’s dual-blade setup from The Witcher 3. The result is surprisingly faithful to the source material for a cosmetic designed to work in Sanctuary’s hellscape.

How to get it: pre-purchase or purchase The Witcher 3’s upcoming Songs of the Past expansion on Battle.net, and the Geralt skin is included. It isn’t a limited-time offer — the skin remains claimable after Songs of the Past officially launches in 2027. Blizzard confirmed this is only the beginning, with more Witcher-themed Diablo 4 content planned for next year, though no details on what that content involves.

Overwatch Gets Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in 2027

Beyond the Battle.net release and Diablo 4 skin, the partnership is producing a third collaboration: Overwatch will receive crossover cosmetics based on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and its upcoming second season, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. David from the first series and Talia from Edgerunners 2 were confirmed for Overwatch cosmetics, though which heroes they’ll be mapped onto hasn’t been announced.

The Overwatch content is planned for 2027, which aligns with Edgerunners 2 dropping on Netflix on 20 October 2026. The second season is expected to generate fresh interest in both Cyberpunk 2077 and the wider franchise — Battle.net’s timing as a new platform launch starts to make more sense in that context.

A Partnership Still in Motion

What’s notable about the CD Projekt Red and Blizzard collaboration is the breadth of it. This isn’t a one-off skin or a limited promotional tie-in — it spans at least three games across both companies, runs into 2027, and has already delivered on its Gamescom promises ahead of schedule. The Witcher 4 is still years away from CD Projekt Red’s perspective, making Battle.net a logical distribution push for their existing catalogue while the next major title is in development.

For Blizzard, landing Cyberpunk 2077 on Battle.net is a genuine coup — it’s a high-profile third-party title that signals the launcher’s ambitions beyond Blizzard’s own slate. Whether more external publishers follow is still unclear, but after this BlizzCon, the precedent exists.
