Sony has made a habit of releasing limited-edition PS5 hardware to coincide with its biggest PlayStation exclusives. Ghost of Yotei got its own range. And now, with Marvel’s Wolverine set to launch on 15 September 2026, Insomniac’s upcoming action game is getting the same treatment — six products, two colourways, and stock that has been moving fast since preorders opened on 19 August.
The short version, as of this week: the Adamantium design is already sold out at PlayStation Direct. The Battle Yellow DualSense controller is still available at most major retailers. If you want one, now is the time to move.
Two Designs: Battle Yellow and Adamantium
The Marvel’s Wolverine DualSense range comes in two colourways, both built around Wolverine’s most iconic visual elements. The Battle Yellow controller is the louder of the two: bright yellow panels on the bottom, yellow details on the face buttons and D-pad, and a set of three jagged claw marks raked across the front face of the controller. Dark detailing and grey scuff marks on the grips complete what the design team describe as a battle-damage look.

The Adamantium design takes a different approach: the same claw-slashed design but in a metallic silver finish, more understated and arguably more versatile as a daily controller. That one was available exclusively through PlayStation Direct — and it has now sold out.
What’s Left and Where to Order
As of 23 August, the Battle Yellow DualSense Wireless Controller remains available at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and PS Direct in the UK. It’s priced at $84.99 in the US and £74.99 in the UK. Stock at PlayStation Direct in the US has sold through for the Battle Yellow model, as has stock at Target — but third-party retailers are still holding inventory.
If you missed the Adamantium controller, there’s no indication Sony plans a restock. As a PlayStation Direct exclusive made in limited quantities, that one is likely gone. The Battle Yellow model has broader retail distribution, which is why it’s still findable — but that won’t last indefinitely.
Console Bundle and Cover Plates — The Full Line-Up
The DualSense controllers are part of a wider six-product launch. The centrepiece is the PS5 Digital Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle, priced at $649.99 in the US and £569.99 in the UK. It includes a console in the matching yellow colourway, a DualSense controller, and a digital code for Marvel’s Wolverine.
For PS5 owners who aren’t looking to replace their console, three sets of cover plates round out the range. Yellow-coloured cover plates are available for both the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro, plus an Adamantium design for the PS5 Pro — all priced at $74.99 / £64.99. All three cover sets and the Adamantium DualSense are exclusively available through PlayStation Direct in participating regions. Sony has confirmed there is no PS5 Pro console bundle in the Wolverine range.

Why September 15 Makes This More Than a Cosmetic
The hardware launches on 15 September 2026 — the same day as Marvel’s Wolverine itself. Insomniac Games’ take on Wolverine is one of the most anticipated PS5 exclusives of the year, following the studio’s run of critically acclaimed Spider-Man titles. It’s rated M for Mature, a deliberate step into darker territory to match the character’s reputation for brutality. The controller and console bundle ship in time for day one play.
Whether you’re buying the controller as a companion to the game or purely for the design, the September 15 deadline is the practical one to keep in mind. Limited-edition hardware like this tends to get harder to find as the launch date approaches, and Sony has been clear that quantities are restricted. The Battle Yellow DualSense is still within reach — for now.
