The Oyster Shed sits on the hillside above Carbost, a short drive up from Talisker Distillery on Skye’s west coast. It is signed off the road and has a small parking area outside.
Because it is right by the distillery, it pairs naturally with a Talisker tour or a Fairy Pools morning.
What to See & Eat
This is a working seafood outlet rather than a sit-down restaurant. It sells oysters, langoustines, lobster, crab and hot seafood dishes to take away, much of it landed locally, with a wet-fish counter alongside.
Grab a tray, take it to the outdoor tables and eat with a view over Loch Harport. The oysters are the signature, sold by the half dozen, but the hot lobster and chips has a loyal following too.
