ARAM Mayhem Tier List (Patch 26.21): Best Champions & Augments

23 October 2026 · 9 min read · Gaming

The best ARAM Mayhem champions on Patch 26.21 are Singed, Master Yi, Lillia, Hecarim and Sett — champions that snowball a single lane, stack augments off takedowns and cannot be kited on the Howling Abyss. On Hexgate’s win-rate data, Singed sits at 58.0% and Sett at 55.2% across 995 games, while the standout augment, BEES!!!, posts a 65.44% win rate.

This is a Patch 26.21 tier list for the Journey to Stardom Mayhem release, which added 35 new augments and removed 13. Champion win rates are Hexgate’s Bayesian-shrunk figures from 11,315 games over patches 26.20–26.21 (read 23 October 2026), cross-referenced with U.GG, aramgg (Tencent/China data) and Blitz. Patch 26.21 is only two days old and rotated the augment pool, so samples are small and tiers will move — we flag that and plan a refresh.

ARAM Mayhem champion tier list (Patch 26.21)

The strongest and weakest champions by win rate. Figures are Hexgate’s Bayesian-shrunk rates (toward 50% by 100 games) over 11,315 games, patches 26.20–26.21, read 23 October 2026. S here is roughly Hexgate’s top 8%.

Champion Tier Win rate Games Why

Azir S 58.3% 290 Soldiers wall the single lane
Singed S 58.0% 785 Proxy and poison, impossible to catch
Xin Zhao S 56.5% 476 Dives the backline, buffed in 26.21
Kassadin S 56.1% 353 Scales past everyone with Riftwalk
Master Yi S 56.1% 797 Resets + Alpha Strike dodge frames
Lillia S 55.8% 758 Kites the clump, AoE sleep
Kayle S 55.7% 759 Hyperscaler with free poke lane
Hecarim S 55.5% 640 Engage + movement-speed augments
Sett S 55.2% 995 Tanky, true damage W, no mana
Aurelion Sol S 55.2% 777 Stacks melt the enemy clump
Jinx S 54.9% 1,245 Resets + rockets into the group
Naafiri D 42.8% — Packs die to AoE poke
Braum D 42.8% — Low damage, no carry threat
Kai’Sa D 42.6% — Can’t itemise fast enough
Qiyana D 41.8% — No brush/river to use her element
Aatrox D 41.9% — Healing gutted by poke, kitable
Locke D 43.5% — Single-target kit, weak in clumps
K’Sante D 38.7% — Lowest win rate in the mode
📊
Why the tier lists disagree — trust the consensus
The four trackers diverge a lot because of small samples and server differences. Master Yi, Lillia, Hecarim, Sett, Xin Zhao, Aurelion Sol and Yone are top-tier on at least three of U.GG, Hexgate, aramgg and Blitz — that overlap is the safest read. The disagreements are instructive: Lucian is D-tier on U.GG but S-tier on aramgg’s China data, Teemo is S+ on aramgg and near the top of Blitz but absent from U.GG’s and Hexgate’s top tiers, and Fiora, Azir and Kassadin only hit S on Hexgate’s small samples. Consensus avoid: Kai’Sa, Ezreal, LeBlanc, Locke, Braum and Aatrox sit low everywhere.

What is ARAM Mayhem?

ARAM Mayhem is standard All Random All Mid on the Howling Abyss plus Arena-style Augments. It runs alongside normal ARAM “until further notice” rather than replacing it. You pick an Augment at game start and again at champion levels 3, 7, 11 and 15 (later picks happen only while you are dead), choosing from a shared tier — Silver, Gold or Prismatic — that everyone in that selection draws from. Runes are disabled in Mayhem, and you can take any summoner spell except Exhaust. One quirk to note: Riot’s own support page says “four Augment Selection phases” but lists five timings, so verify the exact count in-game. The mode has rotated through Season of Mayhem and League of Champions into the current Journey to Stardom build.

Journey to Stardom gives every game a Headliner band modifier with matching music: K/DA (collect 4 Cards for an extra augment), HEARTSTEEL (augments can roll special modifiers), True Damage (takedowns and towers drop Anvils), Pentakill (empower one ability at start and at level 18), Disco (dance under the ball for team gold), Cafe Cuties (stronger health relics), Bees (honey pots and roaming bees) and Command Line (reroll one augment to a higher tier each selection). Butcher’s Bridge and Koeshin’s Crossing are unavailable in Mayhem this patch and return next patch.

The top champions explained

Five picks that carry Mayhem games, and the mechanics behind the win rates.

☣️
Singed
58.0% · 785 games
Proxy poison that no team can catch

S

⚔️
Master Yi
56.1% · 797 games
Q resets and dodge frames snowball fast

S

💤
Lillia
55.8% · 758 games
Kites the clump; AoE sleep ultimate

S

🐴
Hecarim
55.5% · 640 games
Engage that scales with speed augments

S

🥊
Sett
55.2% · 995 games
No-mana bruiser, true-damage W, big R

S

Singed is the cleanest win condition in a mode with one lane and no escape routes: proxy past the minion wave, run Poison Trail through the enemy team and flip anyone who chases with his Q. Master Yi abuses the forced grouping — Alpha Strike’s untargetable frames dodge ARAM poke while his Q and R resets let one kill cascade into an ace. Lillia is the counter to all the melee engage: she kites the permanent clump and her Lullaby ultimate puts the whole enemy team to sleep. Hecarim turns the mode’s movement-speed augments (Shrink Engine and the like) into unavoidable Rampage charges, and Sett is the stat-check pick — no mana to run dry, true damage on his W, and a Haymaker ultimate that repositions the enemy carry into his team. All five share the Mayhem trait that matters most: they either cannot be kited or cannot be caught.

Best augments & what’s new in 26.21

Augments decide Mayhem games more than champion pick. These are aramgg’s highest win-rate augments on Patch 26.21 (Tencent data across 220 augments) — note the two brand-new 26.21 entries (BEES!!! and The Boom and the Bass) still have small samples.

Augment Win rate Tier What it does
BEES!!! 65.44% Gold (new) Summons bees that chase and damage enemies
Transmute: Prismatic 63.25% Prismatic Upgrades your next augment to Prismatic
Draw Your Sword 61.28% Gold Converts bonus stats into attack damage
Infinite Recursion 60.03% Gold 60 Ability Haste + 3 AH per takedown
Shrink Engine 59.78% Gold 10 AH + 2% MS per takedown (lose 65% on death)
Recursion 59.03% Silver Flat 60 Ability Haste
Take’em Down Down Down — Gold (new) Rewards stacked takedowns
The Boom and the Bass — Gold (new) New 26.21 Headliner-themed augment

Patch 26.21 added 35 augments (10 Silver, 19 Gold, 6 Prismatic) and removed 13. The new Silver tier includes Blue Barrier, Flow of Spirit, Fruitify, Lich Brain, No Mana No Problem and Ultimate Recursion; the new Prismatics are Big Shot, Bouncing Bees, Group Hug, Mosh Monster, Third Times The Harm and Totentanz (which ExpCarry flags as risky). The 13 removed augments — stop looking for these in old guides — are Combusting Interest, Crit ’n Cast, Critical Missile, Dimension Shift, DropBear, Dropkick, Fan the Hammer, Hide on Bush, High Roller, Our Healing, Poro Stampede, Spiritual Purification and Ult Bot. Beyond raw win rate, the engine augments carry the mode: Recursion gives 60 Ability Haste flat, Infinite Recursion adds 3 AH per takedown on top, Shrink Engine stacks 2% move speed per takedown (but you lose 65% of stacks on death), and Tank Engine grants +5% max health per takedown.

Best champion + augment combos

The strongest pairings lean into a champion’s scaling. ExpCarry’s standouts: Recursion + Eureka on ability-haste mages like Veigar, Brand and Morgana, turning cooldowns into a constant AoE barrage; Shrink Engine + Infinite Recursion on takedown-hungry snowballers like Hecarim, Seraphine and Teemo, which compounds haste and speed every kill; and Quest: Steel Your Heart + Tank Engine on health-scalers like Tahm Kench, Sion and Dr. Mundo — Steel Your Heart grants Heartsteel plus 300+ bonus HP for +200% Colossal Consumption value, and Tank Engine stacks another 5% HP per takedown on top. The rule of thumb: if your champion wants cooldowns, stack the Recursion line; if it wants to brawl, stack the Engine line off takedowns.

Champions to avoid this patch

The consensus weak picks are single-target or kitable champions that the mode punishes. K’Sante (38.7%) has the lowest win rate in Mayhem — his kit wants to isolate one target, but ARAM is permanent 5v5 grouping. Kai’Sa (42.6%) and Aatrox (41.9%) fall off because they need items and sustained fights the poke-heavy mode denies, Qiyana (41.8%) loses her element gimmick with no brush or river, and Naafiri and Braum (both 42.8%) simply lack the damage to threaten a clump. If you random one of these, lean hard on your augments — an early Transmute: Prismatic or BEES!!! can rescue an otherwise losing pick.

💡
Quick verdict
Reroll toward Singed, Master Yi, Lillia, Hecarim or Sett — champions that can’t be kited or caught. Prioritise BEES!!! (65.44%), Transmute: Prismatic and the Recursion/Engine haste-and-speed line. Avoid K’Sante, Kai’Sa, Aatrox and Braum. Everything shifts fast on a two-day-old patch, so re-check tiers after a week.

ARAM Mayhem FAQ

What’s the best champion in ARAM Mayhem right now?
Singed, at 58.0% over 785 games on Hexgate, with Master Yi (56.1%), Lillia (55.8%), Hecarim (55.5%) and Sett (55.2%) close behind. All snowball or kite the permanent 5v5 grouping.

What are the best ARAM Mayhem augments?
BEES!!! tops aramgg at 65.44%, followed by Transmute: Prismatic (63.25%) and the Recursion line (Infinite Recursion 60.03%, Recursion 59.03%). The Engine augments scale off takedowns.

When do you pick augments in ARAM Mayhem?
At game start and at champion levels 3, 7, 11 and 15, drawing from a shared Silver, Gold or Prismatic tier. Picks after the start happen while you’re dead. Runes are disabled.

Is ARAM Mayhem permanent?
It runs alongside normal ARAM “until further notice” rather than replacing it. The current Journey to Stardom build arrived with Patch 26.21 and rotated 35 new augments in and 13 out.

Which champions should I avoid in ARAM Mayhem?
K’Sante (38.7%, the lowest), plus Kai’Sa, Aatrox, Qiyana, Naafiri and Braum. They’re single-target or kitable picks the grouped, poke-heavy mode punishes.

Champion win rates are Hexgate’s Bayesian-shrunk figures (11,315 games, patches 26.20–26.21); augment rates are aramgg’s Tencent/China data; both read 23 October 2026. Patch 26.21 is two days old with small samples and a rotated augment pool, and China-sourced data reflects a different player base. We refresh this list after about a week.
