Cyberpunk 2077 Best Dual-Wield Build (Update 2.5): Double Trouble Guide

27 October 2026 · 5 min read · Gaming

The best dual-wield build in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 runs Cool 20 / Technical Ability 20 / Reflexes 20, a pair of Power Pistols, a Sandevistan, and the new Double Trouble perk, which lets V fire two guns at once. Each weapon deals 37.5% less damage while dual-wielding, but two pistols at 62.5% each out-damage one — and the Rank 2 Heywood Hurricane empties both automatically for a burst.

Here is the full gunslinger build — attributes, perks, weapons and cyberware — for the dual-wielding added in Update 2.5. Double Trouble is a free addition (no mods required) and has become the most popular new build since the Edgerunners 2 Update launched on 22 October 2026. The setup below is drawn from community build guides (gamestegy, AlcastHQ, G2A) built on the live 2.5 numbers, as of October 2026.

💡
The damage maths behind dual-wielding
Double Trouble looks like a nerf on paper: each gun fires at 62.5% damage (a 37.5% cut). But you’re firing two weapons, so your raw output is roughly 125% of a single gun before perks — and with a Sandevistan slowing time, both barrels land headshots in the same window. The real payoff is the Rank 2 Heywood Hurricane, which auto-fires both guns for one second; stack Triple Tequila’s mitigation and spend it through Splash of Love to make that burst faster and longer. That turns the build from “two mediocre pistols” into a point-blank deleter.

How to unlock Double Trouble

Double Trouble sits in the Cool skill tree and requires 9 points in Cool, so build toward it early if dual-wielding is your goal. It only works with Power Pistols and Revolvers — Smart (auto-targeting) and Tech (charge/penetrating) variants cannot be dual-wielded, so don’t waste a slot trying. Rank 1 enables dual-wielding at the 62.5%-per-gun damage rate; Rank 2 unlocks the Heywood Hurricane, which fires both guns automatically for one second and is the build’s burst finisher. Pair it with the four auxiliary perks — Two Right Hands, Keep ’Em Comin’, Triple Tequila and Splash of Love — and the existing Focus and Deadeye handgun perks for the crit and headshot damage that carry the build.

Stacks

Splash of Love

Payoff

The build’s rhythm is: stay mobile, trigger the Sandevistan, land dual headshots through Focus and Deadeye, and refund stamina on kills with Keep ’Em Comin’ so you never stop firing. Two Right Hands keeps the hip-fire spread manageable while you move. The burst loop is Triple Tequila → build mitigation stacks → spend them into a Splash of Love-boosted Heywood Hurricane for a faster, longer auto-fire window. It is an aggressive, in-your-face playstyle that trades Smart-gun safety for raw close-range output.

Quick verdict
Run Cool 20 / Tech 20 / Reflexes 20, take Double Trouble at 9 Cool, add Two Right Hands, Keep ’Em Comin’, Triple Tequila and Splash of Love on top of Focus and Deadeye, and equip two La Chingona Dorada Power Pistols with a Sandevistan. Two guns at 62.5% each beat one, and the Heywood Hurricane is your burst finisher. Power Pistols/Revolvers only — no Smart or Tech.

Cyberpunk 2077 dual-wield FAQ

How do you dual-wield in Cyberpunk 2077?
Take the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree (requires 9 Cool), added in Update 2.5. It lets you equip two Power Pistols or Power Revolvers at once — Smart and Tech weapons don’t qualify.

Does dual-wielding do less damage?
Each gun fires at 62.5% damage (a 37.5% cut), but you’re firing two, so your output is about 125% of a single pistol before perks. With a Sandevistan landing both headshots, it out-damages a single handgun.

What are the best weapons for the dual-wield build?
A pair of La Chingona Dorada Power Pistols (Jackie Welles’ guns) is the ideal starting point. For heavier single-shot damage, an Archangel Power Revolver setup is the alternative.

What is the Heywood Hurricane?
Rank 2 of Double Trouble. It fires both guns automatically for one second — the build’s burst finisher. Triple Tequila and Splash of Love make it faster and longer when you spend mitigation stacks.

What attributes should a dual-wield build use?
Cool 20 (handguns + Double Trouble), Technical Ability 20 (cyberware), Reflexes 20 (crit and mobility), Body 18 and Intelligence 3, paired with a Sandevistan operating system.
